Letterpress

Images from my second letterpress workshop last week. We are learning everything form pastings up, locking the type, the point system and how to use the press. Its really looooooong but the results are great, as a project for the three weeks we've been making posters about numbers with connotations. So my group are doing "2's company 3's a crowd" We are finishing the posters tomorrow so should be goooood!

Foundation

These are images of two of the final books I made for my end of year project on foundation at Camberwell. I took old books and re-worked them into something new, the first was a book about Holbien's paintings of Henry VIII, which I made into a illustrated pop-up book of Henry and his wives. The second was a book of letters which I hollowed out and hung letters in, in different sizes and ornamental fonts.

These are also on my flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kathleenswastingtime/

Final posters

These are my final set of posters that I handed in for my final major project last week. In the end I got my Grandad to chose what key sentences to combine with my images like we did in one of our workshops with Orlagh, I feel it makes the combinations that bit stronger. I then used another one of my Images to create a logo, just to place the images at the Elephant and make them work as posters.

Poster Idea one

This was a trial idea for my final posters, I didn't go with this poster in the end but it was one of my ideas that I really liked, using my Grandads account of Elephant in his childhood with images of the Elephant today.

Interview.

Inspired by the workshops we had with Karl for our final major project, around the idea of London's constant growth and change. I interviewed my Grandad about what Elephant and Castle was like when he lived there as a child 50 years ago. I love his hand writing, its so old fashioned and curly!

Scale 12th May

As part of our scale workshop we created a 360 view of the skyline around Russell Square, this was quite a cool exercise as things definitely get a lot more interesting above ground level.

Lazzzzzzy

Ok so I have been really busy with my final project lately but now thats all done and dusted i shall do updates on what i've been up to!
