Peckham

Today was our Art in Peckham workshop, Im not to fond of Peckham, But i must admit that today was more fun then my usual experience in Peckham. We went to Area ten which is a disused timber yard and is now a large scale art/design space, which has artists in recidence etc. It is absolutely MASSIVE, which means they've create some really interesting large scale pieces, including these hanging frames with cushions in that you can climb up inside, they reminded me of beehive come nest. They are currently working on a project called the tree house gallery which will go up in Regents park. Check them out: http://www.area10.info/

We also met southwark's artist in residence, whose name has escaped me as it is rather long, Ana Laura Lopez de la Torre. She was really cool and talked to us all about collaboration, and pushing your boundaries by making us go and start a conversation with someone we wouldn't usually talk to, and get a photo of us together. Not the easiest thing to do in Peckham. But all in all it was a productive trip i feel : )
